Meghan had a doctor's appointment today and we found out some good news and bad news. The bad news is that our doc is going away until 17 Jun. So if Stella comes in the next week we'll have a stand-in doc. But she promised someone good for us. On the 18th our doc is going to disrupt or "scrape" (sounds so painful and violent) the membrane. This is not the same as breaking her water. According to the research, 50% of women go into labor within 48 hours of this. The doc is pretty sure meghan's recent cramping is not Braxton Hicks contractions - rather REAL labor cramps. But they are so intermittent and short that they are not indicative of active labor.

The doc wouldn't even check to see if Meghan was effaced or dialated today out of fear of inducing labor. I'm convinced that it is an indication that when they do the procedure on the 18th that Meghan will start labor. Woo HOOO!

And for the skeptics who are still concerned that the baby may come out with a penis, we visually confirmed again that the baby will be a girl. We saw the genetalia clearly -- and it is of the female type.

I think regardless of our doc being away, we should do active things to induce labor. :)
