Not so deep thoughts

So following the alarming events today in Manhattan, I couldn't help but remember Sept. 11, 2001 - when word spread quickly about a plane hitting the WTC...and all hell broke loose. I think it's so interesting the way some of us respond when we hear that a plane crashed into a building, we are naturally reminded of 9/11. We may question, "Uh-oh, is this happening again?"

From a learning perspective we humans are so fascinating! It only takes one time for us to experience a catastrophe to adapt a set of concerns, expectations, and potential plans of action for the future. These thoughts then spring up immediately when a similar set of circumstances arise. Clearly humans impress me, or else I would not be in the field of psychology.

On practical note, I think they should make NYC a "no fly" zone, like they do in Washington D.C. JFK and LaGuardia are not in Manhattan, so technically all the FAA would have to do is change the flight paths for landing and taking off.
