Dean's Halftime Show

Dean watched his first Superbowl Sunday night. We learned that he likes to tackle! He watched the first few plays, and then began practicing...on the floor. So the next time any of you grandparents consider making him upset by refusing him a cookie or trying to put him to bed, you had better think twice. This guy does not mess around. He takes his tackling very seriously!

Indian Country

I arrived in Montana yesterday after a very long day of traveling including a little puddle jumper of a plane. The land out here is beautiful. I kept waiting to see the mountains but there are just flat plains for miles and miles in every direction. The Indian Reservation is very different from what I expected. I had expected some formal marker declaring we entered the reservation. There was nothing just all of sudden we were in a small town. The people here are very poor. The unemployment rate is around 25%, many of the children are obese and the suicide rates/attempts have take a huge rise (a state of emergency was declared and that is how I came to be here for the next 2 weeks).

I will have the opportunity to particpate in many cultural events while here in addition to the main mission of assisting this community with the suicide epidemic. I will keep you all posted. Keep these people in your thoughts and prayers!

Boys Will Be Boys

SO CUTE!

Dean's 1st Birthday

We had a very small party for Dean with family. A few close friends from work also came. Here are the pics. I don't think anyone can argue that Dean IS indeed Dr. Clancy's Mini-Me. He was so funny eating his cake. He really enjoyed shovelling it in his mouth!

Stella's 3rd Birthday

We threw her a gymnastics party. Grandma, Joanne, and pop-pop came, in addition to uncle Sean and aunt Brenda. She had a blast! One of her friends gave her the princess dress from the movie The Princess and the Frog. However, we think she looks more like a southern debutant the way she sports it. Dean also enjoyed the festivities.

A few more from Baba's 70th b-day

Baba's Birthday

Here are a few pictures from last weekend. The siblings certainly had a blast...not sure about the old folks...

Michael Jackson Lives!

Stella has been listening to lots of Michael Jackson lately. She is not only learning how to dance to it, but learning how to woo her audience with rockstar faces. Check out the cool, soul-grooving pucker she's got!

Out-take from Italian Language Lessons

This is from the "Director's Cut." Notice that the actors haven't really mastered the script. Nor does the Rigatoni remain on the fork...for either actor. The "Key Grip" and "Dolly Grip" were fired following this take. :-)

White House Easter Egg Roll

Contrary to the subject line of this post, it doesn't mean President Obama re-named a type of chinese appetizer after his house in honor of the recent Christian holiday. It means we had the fortunate opportunity to score tickets to this annual event on the lawn of the White House. Apparently, every First Lady has hosted it annually on the Monday after Easter Sunday. Here are a few pics. Stella's best quote happened when we were leaving. She said, "I don't want to go home. I didn't get to meet the President." We had to explain that she couldn't, but that she was invited to play in his yard on his lawn. I think she understood as best as she could.
