Licensure

I passed the national licensure test for psychology! The only thing left to get me licensed is the administrative process. WOO HOO!

Recovering

BTW -- today marks 5 days after our debacle at that wretched restaurant that selflessly gave us food poisoning. We are still not feeling 100%. We cannot eat normal quantities of food (although "normal quanitity of food" for me is a questionable term alltogether). We also continue to be slightly dehydrated, queezy, and headachey with transient acid reflux. Our cheeseburger in paradise was the gift that just keeps on giving...

Whoaaa Nelly!

We are back from our short business trip to San Antonio, TX. It was great to go back there because we miss spending time in a city -- particularly one in which we have previously lived. We were part of a working group of about 20 others who were asked to help the organizer spend 4 million dollars of congressional money that was distributed for mental health treatment purposes. It was a fascinating experience to A) participate in a collaborative working group experience B) to try to spend that much money in a meaningful way C) to hear how many creative ideas others had.

It was also the first time Meghan and I have been away together AND away from Stella. That was a strange experience in and of itself. Our newest family member was missing! But now we are home safely and our little munchkin is tucked into bed...where I will also be going right about now.

DISGUSTING

The conversation at 12:45 pm on 20 Jan goes something like this:

Meghan: Let's get some lunch!
Kent: Okay, where do you want to go?
Meghan: Let's try that Jimmy Buffet Cheeseburger In Paradise restaurant that just opened up.
Mrs. Clancy (visiting and unsuspecting of sudden doom): I can eat wherever.
Kent: Meghan, are you sure you want to try that place? --It kinda looks like a grease-pit.
Meghan: Nah, they've probably got really good cheeseburgers!
Kent: Okay, whatever you want -- I can eat whatever.

1:30 pm our cheeseburgers arrive at the table and we eat them. They were not bad!

4:00 pm
Kent: Man, that food is just sitting there like a rock in my stomach...I feel gross.

4:30 pm
Meghan (as we drive back to Crestview from Destin): I feel really nausiated. I need to get out of this car.

6:00 pm
Mrs. Clancy: Man, something I ate did not mix with my stomach. I just got sick in the bathroom
Meghan: I am gonna puke.
Kent: I'll take Stella and rock her to sleep while you two do your thing.

6:30 pm
Kent: Someone take Stella, I'm gonna puke.

6:35pm-4:00am
All parties get violently ill due to food poisoning -- DISGUSTING.

The moral of the story: The next time a restaurant gives you a funky, greasy vibe, DO NOT eat there! Also do not eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise when you visit Sandestin, FL.

Stella Happenings

Since our return from Christmas she has made some huge milestones. She can get to a sitting position by herself, she can crawl on all fours, she can pull herself to a standing position, sip from a sippy cup AND PERHAPS THE BEST... she is consistently sleeping through the night. And we discovered yesterday that two more teeth are breaking the skin.

Some videos of these events are to come....

More CHristmas Pics

Christmas Eve with the Corsos and Millers!! Stella was able to sit with us at the big table because Dawn and Mike bought her a Princess Chair. She chowed down on some sweet potatoes and fruit.

Stella took a liking to Mike, it was his silly voices!!

Stella with the Miller girls: Dawn and Joanne. I think she was crazy over them!

Slackers

We apologize for not keeping you all in the loop to the COrso happenings. We had a wonderful trip up North for the holidays and in just 7 days were able to spend time with all of our family and friends. It was whirlwind to say the least!! Here are some pics.

Uncle Sean let me sit with him during dinner. I am so spoiled when I visit family!!

Stella knew that Uncle Christian had some good tricks because her cousin Jack had warned her but she didn't expect him to be so silly :-)
Daddy and Stella in Brooklyn walking the streets. This was her first trip to a city!!
Stella opening gifts with Dawn. She loved tearing the wrapping paper and putting it in her mouth. She has so many new gifts at home.
