Visitors

We had our friend Elaine and her boyfriend Joe over last night for some grillin fun! Stella was flirting with Joe the whole night. Here is a video of Elaine and Stella having some fun. Sorry that the video is on the side.

Posing for Aunt Katherine

Stella is looking more and more like a toddler. Here she is sporting her new dress from Aunt Katherine. She looks so adorable!

Stella Loves her Gator

Kent made Stella a Gator at Build A Bear with him singing their morning song. She loves the Gator but hasn't quite figured out how to activate the voice. We are working on it. She is also in love with her rocker. Her hair is a little out of control because she ripped her hair tie out. She also cries when she does this because she is pulling out her hair at the same time :-)

A Video TOO

Lounging in the Pool

STella was very excited about her new pool. See the pics below

We are one Happily Licensed FAMILY

Ahh one other piece of news.... I am officially licensed. What a weight off the shoulders. I vow to never take another standardized test again!

Stella Update

Stella has been quickly developing into a little toddler these days. She has perfected her walking but is still lacking in situational awareness... she tries to walk through the dog or any other object on the ground. Videos to come!

She has adjusted well to Kent's absence. The first few days she was expectionally clingly but since then she has regained her fiery personality. We watch vidoes of Daddy singing and reading and also talk to him on the phone. Skype is on tap for later today. We have a calendar that counts down the days til he returns. WE ARE ONE MONTH DOWN!!!!!!

We are off to hit the blow up pool pop pop and I put together this morning. She lvoes the water and it is pretty humid and hot here (about 90s).

Thank you everyone for your calls and support over the last month. It is much appreciated.

Week One is Over!

I have completed my 1st official week here. If you watch the news or search the online news websites for the term "Guantanamo Bay", you'll have an idea as to what's been going on here lately. I really can't say any more than that... All in all it was a good week. I have learned quite a bit since being here. In some ways it's an incredibly easy job. In other ways it is one of the hardest jobs I have ever held. My two superiors are brilliant and excellent folks to be learning from.

My roomate is a nice guy who is leaving in 3 weeks. So at that point I'll probably get another roomate who will be there until I leave. The housing situation has worked out well so far.

The weekends can be leisurely...if not lonely. But there are some great people here from all walks of life and all branches of the service, which keeps it interesting. But, the workdays are quite stressful.

There are tons of iguanas around the base and it's actually illegal to make them roadkill. You can get fined up to $10K for not reporting an accident with an iguana. The Moment of the Week was interrupting 2 iguanas mate. It was actually quite disturbing to be walking along at work and to turn a corner only to be stopped in your tracks by reptilian romance -- EWWWW!

As you may conclude from what's written above, I am doing pretty well. Only 25 more weeks to go...
